WHY THIS EXISTS

We were told to
dim it down.

So we turned the lights all the way up instead.

The I'm Too Much Club was founded because somewhere along the way, too many of us were handed the same quiet shame: you're too loud, too emotional, too intense, too much. We were asked to shrink, soften, or slow down so the world could be more comfortable around us.

This club is the answer to that. It is a permission slip, a rallying cry, and a home for everyone who has ever been told to be less. We believe your bigness is not a flaw — it's one of your very best features. Your laugh, your feelings, your love, your dreams, your sparkles, your volume, your heart: it all belongs here.

We are building a community where "too much" is a compliment. Where showing up fully is the only rule. Where we celebrate the wild, the tender, the loud, and the deeply-feeling — because that is exactly the kind of world we want to live in.

What is muchness,
really?

Muchness is the particular light that makes you feel alive and engaged with life. It's the sparkle that shows up in what you wear, how you enter a room, what you choose to participate in, how deeply you engage with the people and things you love. It is not one-size-fits-all.

For some of us, muchness looks like sequins at the grocery store, a laugh that carries across the parking lot, or a four-page text that says everything we mean. For others, it is quiet intensity: the way we feel things in high definition, love hard, or disappear into a passion until the world falls away.

It is curiosity, wonder, and zest for life — the little spark that makes ordinary days feel like events. And when we are told to dim it, shrink it, or leave it at the door, we don't just lose volume. We lose joy, spirit, vitality, our essential self.

The I'm Too Much Club is about rekindling that spark. It is a place to remember who you were before someone told you to be less. To fall back in love with your own aliveness. To reclaim the muchness that was yours all along.

Amy, founder of The I'm Too Much Club, in heart-shaped red sunglasses

Hi, I'm Amy…
and I'm Too Much.

I’ve always brought full energy, full excitement, and a flood of ideas to anything that sparks my interest. I grew up with parents who met that muchness with enthusiasm of their own (and usually a “How can we help?”). Then I entered the adult world, where asking too many questions, seeing too many possibilities, and wanting to plus things a little more could make a person feel like a problem to manage. I got very good at fitting into rooms that required less of me, and my joy paid the bill.

I created The I’m Too Much Club when I decided I was done treating my muchness like a liability. This club is for anyone whose curiosity, ideas, energy, emotion, ambition, or extra-ness has ever made someone suggest they shrink. You are welcome here in all your glorious muchness, with no dimmer switch required.
